This month’s new moon in the transformative and powerful sign of Scorpio is intensified by being a partial solar eclipse. Eclipses occur when the Luminaries (Sun and Moon) are within 18 degrees of the lunar nodes.  This new moon is a south node eclipse.

The South Node represents our individual and collective past, unconscious habits and patterns, baggage, karma as well as gifts and talents.  The South Node is also associated with a sense of draining or being pulled back to old dynamics.  Combined with the Sun and Moon in the deeply emotional sign of Scorpio, there is potential for unconscious dynamics and old habitual emotional patterns rising to the surface for release.

The Sun and Moon in Scorpio are exactly conjunct Venus, the planet of attraction, values, beauty, creativity and relationships.  This combination offers release of draining relationship dynamics and highlights reassessment and rebalancing of power and control within relationships.  Scorpio is associated with secrets, jealousy and possessiveness so any relationship secrets are likely to be exposed at this time.  With all cards on the table, there is potential to reclaim and restore personal power within relationships and to renew and reinvigorate deep and powerful relationships.

Venus also relates to values, worth, money and finances and Scorpio highlights wealth, buried treasure and shared resources.  The new moon supports us to deeply consider our individual value set and how we value ourselves and our place in the world around us. There is the opportunity to reassess individual finances, rebuild self worth and transform collective values around shared resources, particularly the resources of the earth.

This new moon eclipse is not for the faint hearted but is potentially deeply cleansing and renewing!
