The full moon in her home sign of Cancer brings to light themes of home, family, self nurture, self protection and emotional security.  All full moons are opposite the Sun, and this one is intensified by the presence of Pluto conjunct (very close to) the Sun, intensifying emotions, bringing buried emotions to the surface, exposing raw emotions and vulnerability.

This has the potential to transform our sense of identity and allow us to become more emotionally empowered by facing any fear of strong emotions, not being controlled by fear of emotions, releasing outdated emotional defences and creating empowerment through vulnerability. On a practical level we might want to transform our home and eliminate clutter, creating a clear space and sanctuary for the body, mind and spirit.

The Moon in trine with Neptune heightens intuition, creativity and sensitivity and reminds us to take extra care of ourselves and nurture our minds, bodies and emotions.

Uranus is stationing (slowing down) before it changes direction and turns direct on 19 January and so its influence is magnified.  At this full moon it squares Mercury which is retrograde from 15 January – 5 February.  This suggests opportunities for a radical rethink, inspiration, realisations and revelations of truth.

Uranus trines Venus, also retrograding until 30 January, suggesting a radical review of our values, relationships and attitudes to beauty and harmony.
