The New Moon in Sagittarius is typically optimistic, visionary, confident and expansive. New Moons are a time for letting go and setting creative intentions. This New Moon is not typical, as it is a Total Solar Eclipse, where the light of the Sun (our conscious and external experience) is temporarily obscured by the Moon (our emotional and unconscious inner world). Conjunct the South Node connected to our collective past, this eclipse suggests releasing and cleansing of the past on a personal and collective level.
Tense aspects to Uranus and proximity to difficult fixed stars carrying an aggressive and destructive influence; indicate a need for caution against conflict and sickness. However this eclipse belongs to the Saros 5 South series, described as joyful and happy with a sense of good news, indicating light at the end of the tunnel.
